Lattice-Based Minimum-Distortion Data Hiding

Lattices have been conceived as a powerful tool for data hiding. While conventional studies and applications focus on achieving the optimal robustness versus distortion tradeoff, in some such hiding medical/physiological signals, primary concern is to achieve minimum amount of cover signal. In this paper, we revisit celebrated quantization index modulation (QIM) scheme propose minimum-distortion version it, referred MD-QIM. The crux MD-QIM move point only boundary Voronoi region lattice indexed by message, which suffices subsequent correct decoding. At any fixed code rate, achieves sacrificing additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) attacks. Simulation results confirm that our significantly outperforms QIM terms mean square error (MSE), peak signal ratio (PSNR) percentage residual difference (PRD).
